What can i do with it? #
- set custom width, height and thickness of the pegboard
- export as .stl for your 3D Print
- Select, if you want holes for mounting the pegboard (with spacer)
“Making of” #
The idea I wanted to have custom sizes of the IKEA SKADIS pegboard, without having to design it from scratch for every new size. Also, the print should be compatible with the existing extensions you can buy and the great amount of printable extensions on thingiverse for example.
The build
I am honest - this is build with a lot of support from https://claude.ai. The basic structure was generated, the code was edited from me until i liked it - so not completely “vibe-coded”.
If you dont trust the website skraeddar.torminal.com or want an offline version, just host it yourself with npm (use the installation instructions on my Github).
The name
The name “Skrädda” comes from the swedish word Skräddasydd, which means “tailored” - i thought, this is a fitting title for a project like this!
The inspiration / other good projects
Also visit https://skapa.build/ - Skrädda is heavily inspired by it (even though Skrädda is not as visually appealing as Skapis). Skapis allows you to create customised boxes that you can use with one of the pegboards.
As usual, AFTER finishing this project, i found some projects that already work great. Here is a list:
- CAD Onshape - Parametric Skadis Generator by Line Arc Line
- 3Dgo - Ikea Skadis Generator (any size) by Benito
